Lauren: welcome back to another episode of. Raw and real with your business. BFFs, Lauren Csco and Jen Navarro. And so much has happened since we have been behind the mic together recording a podcast episode.

Jen: that you're never gonna see. And more than that, so much has changed since February when we did our last
Lauren: recording together. Yeah. Well, it's interesting. We didn't even have a name for the podcast yet. When we were recording, we were just, let's just get together.
We had the topics, we knew what we were gonna talk about, but we weren't sure yet the actual title. And on top of that, [00:01:00] Jen had just started her iteration of her business again. We did not have. A business together? No. Again,
Jen: you know what's funny? I keep on telling people like, oh, my ex-business partner, but now she's my business partner again.
So just business partner.
Lauren: It's like when you break up and then you get back together because you just miss each other and realize what you had. However, me and Jen never broke up. For those that didn't listen to other podcasts or haven't been. And to know me and Jen actually became even better and closer friends since the last podcast because for the last four, oh my gosh, four years.
We've just been friends.
Jen: Four years. Yeah.
Lauren: It's been about four years since we were recording last. It's, you know what's
Jen: so weird too, like the first thing we did together was accidentally start a business together.
Lauren: Yes. And here we are four years later, accidentally starting another [00:02:00] business together, which is why we're doing this podcast because.
A, we have some updates about what's going on with both of our lives, but two, we have a major, major giveaway that we're doing. We wanna make sure that all the details are here so you can participate. So

Jen: launching it in this way because we've already worked with some brilliant clients who've seen amazing results. Yeah. Like mind blowing results and.
Our other business partner who isn't here, we should bring in her face, like her face, like, this is Emily. You should be, she um, she's in charge of the systems and operations on the back end that help everybody's business to run really, really smoothly. Yeah. She brought this idea to the table and Lauren and I jumped on it, so, well
Lauren: actually I think that there, okay, let's talk about the real story.
'cause this is actually the fun, this is like the fun part. So. The name Trusted Friends Agency has so many meanings to us. 'cause first off, I don't know if you guys know this or [00:04:00] not, but we have nicknames for each other, me and Jen, and then also our other friend Emily. And we all called each other the nickname friend.
So for five years we pretty much hi friend. Like that's how we like greet. Like we text each other like, hi friend. And same with Emily. So what the fun thing is, is this has just been this organic thing of just friends coming together and friends helping where really this. Whole, I don't wanna say threesome.
That sounds our throuple,
Jen: I joke.
Lauren: Um, but seriously though, like these, it's, it's been in the works for a while and. A story actually started back in 2016 when me and Emily first met at a job fair and I was recruiting, and I met her and I loved her energy, so I was like, I'm gonna hire her because I wanna be her friend.
So I hired Emily and we became friends and we would sit in my office. [00:05:00] And we would talk about, 'cause yeah, let's just say it was a very bro man masculine sales environment. We worked for a mortgage company where I was training in building sales teams and I hired Emily. It was like such a bro culture, but she's like, I'm in, I'm, let's do it.
And we would sit there and we would talk about how. We never, we didn't fit in like we had to mask to really be okay with the environments that we're we're working in and the way that things were done. And we would talk about like, one day we're gonna start a company and it's gonna be all women and all women owned, and we're gonna get paid our worth and we're gonna do it our way because we would just cringe at some of the things that we'd have to do the way that they wanted to run the business.
It's so beautiful that here we are literally like nine years ago, at least me and Emily and this being a reality. But along the way about, I don't know, back in 2018, Emily actually left her corporate job to help me build my business when me and Jen started working together. So me, Jen, and Emily have actually worked together [00:06:00] before.
When me and Jen had our other iteration, Emily was behind the scenes. We used to joke and call her the Cat Wrangler. Cat Wrangler.
Jen: It's so embarrassing because at this point I feel like I have grown a lot. Yeah. And don't need to be wrangled, but she's brilliant for putting up with that iteration of us.
Well back. This is what we were, me and Jen were like, we
Lauren: have this idea. Let's do it. And like would jump in. Oh yeah. And we're like, Emily, you need to do this for us. We would just be going and going and going. We're now. This actual business we've been working on since March. March,
Jen: yeah.
Lauren: And it's September now and we are officially launching this and that we keep on talking about just how we feel like we are really in this maturity in our businesses of like how things are being have, how things feel differently now instead of having an idea and shooting at the hips.
We have this idea, let's nurture it and let's be intentional about it and let's make sure that it's really aligned and we're doing it in really beautiful ways. And [00:07:00] I think it just makes it so much more fun to not only work together, to look back, to see all the things that we did and made us literally cringe.
And we will, and we are here to talk about that, by the way, because we don't want you to do the same thing. Not in this episode, but. That's the reason why we are doing this is because we have now had experiences in the industry with hiring people. All the things that we are standing against. We, we were, we had, we had happened to us.
Or we unfortunately did to other people. Yeah. So it's one of these things where there's like lots of lessons, lots of intentionality about the way that we're building, that we built this businesses for us and for other people.
Jen: There's just been a lot of growth over the last four years. So our business I think was from 2021 to 2022, like midway.
Mm-hmm. Um, and so for the last three years we've really just been growing a friendship. Yeah. You know? And. And now at this point, there's been a lot of [00:08:00] lessons and a lot of conversations and all, just a lot of intentionality. So that's why I'm so excited about the launch of our business and the launch of this next thing that is the whole point of this episode today.

They actually want you. So when you're able to put yourself in [00:11:00] the funnel in a way that's not actually taking up your time so that you're able to. Really create the connections so that people are like, oh my gosh, this is exactly what I need and I need it now. That's when the magic happens.
